Dr. Aneel Belani grew up in Aurora, not far away from the office, he has been waiting for years to return to his hometown. He went to Waubonsie Valley High School, and still keeps in touch with the friends he made growing up in the area. He studied Biology at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and was actively involved in community service activities. He then went to dental school at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Dr. Aneel spent two years doing an Endodontic Residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, one of the most highly regarded Endodontic residency programs in the country.
In 2011 Dr. Aneel became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Only 20% of Endodontists are Board Certified and Dr. Aneel became the youngest Endodontist to ever achieve this honor. Dr. Aneel enjoys travel, sports, and exercise in his free time.
Dr. Joseph Gupana DMD (Endodontist) is an endodontist specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of complex root canal disease. He grew up in Woodridge, IL and is a graduate of Downers Grove North High School. Prior to his dental training, he attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned his degree in biology. Dr. Gupana then moved to Philadelphia where he studied at Temple University’s School of Dentistry. He graduated cum laude in his class and went on to specialize in the field of endodontics at Temple. Dr. Gupana is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Gupana enjoys playing golf, tuning European cars, martial arts, and anything “techy.” He currently has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and taught for a number of years. He also enjoys cooking and traveling with his wife and kids.
Dr. Sonia Belani was brought up in Aurora, Illinois and is happy to be back in her hometown. She completed her undergraduate education at Boston University and graduated cum laude with distinction. She returned to Illinois to complete her dental degree (D.D.S.) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then stayed at UIC to complete a three-year specialty program in Periodontics , where she also earned a Master of Oral Sciences degree and served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Sonia is a member of both her state and national dental societies (ADA and ISDS), the American Association of Periodontology, and currently serves on the board of the Illinois Society of Periodontists. She teaches periodontics at UIC part-time and recently became a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Belani enjoys staying up-to-date with new techniques and materials in her field. She is also an avid runner and likes music, reading, and travel.
Dr. Thiki Bertrand earned her bachelor of science from Pennsylvania State University, her masters in biotechnology from Georgetown University followed by her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University. She then completed a general practice residency program at the V.A. Hospital in Manhattan as well as her specialty training in Endodontics at Columbia University. During her time in dental school she participated in a dental mission trip to Grenada and in 2012 she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Bertrand moved to Chicago from New York city in 2011 and enjoys exploring the city with her husband. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, cooking and traveling.
Dr. Cho grew up in Southern California and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology in 2002. He received his dental degree at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2008, graduating with honors. After completing a one year general practice residency program at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, he returned to Temple to complete Endodontic residency. He then continued at Temple as a clinical professor teaching dental students while working in private practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Dr. Cho and his wife Sandra (also a Dentist!) have been married for four years now and together have one daughter. He enjoys spending time traveling with his family, eating out at new restaurants, and cooking.
A native to Naperville, Dr. Angela Wang attended University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She later attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received both her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and her certificate in Periodontology. She is a past lecturer of the Yankee Dental Congress in Boston and has a special interest in clinical research with an emphasis on ridge augmentation. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Periodontology.
During her free time, she enjoys running, dancing, and hiking as well as painting and sculpting. She is also fond of traveling and learning about different cultures. She loves spending time with her family, friends, and pet rabbits.
