Dr. Sonia Belani
Dr. Sonia Belani was brought up in Aurora, Illinois and is happy to be back in her hometown. She completed her undergraduate education at Boston University and graduated cum laude with distinction. She returned to Illinois to complete her dental degree (D.D.S.) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then stayed at UIC to complete a three-year specialty program in periodontics, where she also earned a Master of Oral Sciences degree and served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Sonia is a member of both her state and national dental societies (ADA and ISDS), the American Association of Periodontology, and is a past president of the Illinois Society of Periodontists. She has lectured at Chicago's Midwinter Dental Meeting and worked part-time at UIC College of Dentistry as an assistant professor for six years. She continues to lecture at UIC when time permits. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Belani enjoys staying up-to-date with new techniques and materials in her field. She is also an avid runner and enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband.
